On Saturday, we were lucky enough to be allowed into the Bible Room of John Ryland’s Library to look through some of the wonders in the collection.
From Slater’s Directories which showed us who was living in Burnage in the 1930s and their professions, to original copies of the Manchester and Salford Woman Citizen, in which we learnt that one of the representatives was from Burnage itself!
The volunteers were engrossed in the wonderful materials gathered by Archivist and Burnage: A Place Called Home Project Champion, John and look forward to heading back to the Library in order to have more of a rummage and look in more detail at the items related to our project.
