Avon Road

Planting trees along the road might seem normal to us now, but at the time it wasn't that common. At the time, some planners thought that providing access to nature in the city was important for people's health and well-being, but they couldn't prove it. We now know that they were right. The trees along this road are much bigger than when they were first planted. How old do you think they are? Listen to the wind blowing the leaves. How does it make you feel?

Here is a photo of project volunteer Lyndsey Bradburn outside her childhood home on Avon Road. Notice the colours of the front doors!
